Amidst Pandemic EA Sports declare “an extraordinary quarter”
With all sporting activities coming to a halt and very limited action beginning soon, that too with a lot of restrictions and no fans at all, everyone is struggling during these times and businesses are recording a negative growth.
Most of the sports companies and sports businesses have recorded stagnancy or a downward growth in terms of numbers, but there is one segment that has recorded a very steep upward growth and a big boom during these times.
There has been no LIVE action in last couple of months but sports fanatics cannot keep themselves away from the game. Hence when everybody was locked inside their homes they thought of switching to the E-platform, the only platform which can actually provide them all the action and entertainment at their comfort. E-sports business has grown manifolds surpassing the numbers which one could never dream of.
Electronic Arts (EA Sports) the architect behind Cricket and FIFA games have reported this quarter as “an extraordinary quarter” with an operating income of $471 million. Their operating cash flow has doubled from $158 million to $378 million.
With all the live football action coming to a stop, EA Sports became the centre of emotions and gaming experience for the Fans. Even the Clubs and Sports companies have now realized that the next big thing into the sports industry is going to be E-Sports with official tournaments and prize being at stake.
This is one of the best ways to gage attention and also engage fans and at the same time increase the viewership and reach out to the audience in masses.
